Hong Kong Disneyland Rules & Regulations

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all guests, Hong Kong Disneyland follows park-wide safety and conduct guidelines. This page outlines key rules about entry, belongings, safety, photography, dress code, and behaviour so visitors can plan confidently.

General Hong Kong Disneyland park rules

Disneyland Paris tickets featuring characters and attractions.
  • Park tickets are non-transferable and must be retained for re-entry checks.
  • Guests must follow instructions from Cast Members and security at all times.
  • Running, rough play or activities that may endanger other guests are not permitted.
  • Loud, disruptive or abusive behaviour can result in removal from the park without refund.
  • Queue-jumping is strictly prohibited, including holding spaces for others.

Permitted and prohibited items

  • Permitted: small snacks, water bottles, personal umbrellas, compact strollers, personal cameras and phones.
  • Not permitted: outside meals / large quantities of food, alcohol, glass containers, illegal substances, drones, toy weapons, self-propelled scooters, hoverboards, oversized sports equipment.
  • Stroller dimensions and bag checks apply at entry; security screening is mandatory for all guests.

Dress code and costumes

General dress code

  • Guests must wear proper attire: shirt/top, pants/shorts/skirt, and shoes — no bare torsos, swimwear or overly revealing outfits.
  • Clothing should be sensible for walking and the weather: comfortable shoes, breathable clothes (given Hong Kong’s heat) are strongly recommended.
  • Avoid outfits with offensive or inappropriate language/graphics — the park enforces a family-friendly standard.

Costume / Themed outfit policy and restrictions

  • Full costumes, costume accessories and masks are generally not allowed for ordinary guests.
  • Exceptions: During designated events or private-party nights (e.g. themed parties, festival celebrations) — guests may wear costumes, but only in those designated areas/times.
  • Even during such events, costumes must be family-friendly, non-violent, non-offensive, and safe (no sharp props, no full-face masks, no items that may obstruct movement or ride safety).
  • Guests wearing approved costumes during events usually need to wear a badge or sticker (for example a “Party Guest” sticker) so that staff and others know they’re part of the special event.
  • Costumes, capes, props, hats or accessories which may interfere with rides or endanger others might be disallowed — each ride still enforces its own safety rules for attire.

What to wear

  • Comfortable, casual clothes: T-shirts or tops, shorts/pants or skirts depending on the weather
  • Comfortable walking shoes/sneakers (instead of heels or slippery footwear), since there’s a lot of walking and queueing.
  • Light layers or a small jacket if you visit in cooler months; in summer, breathable, light clothing.
  • Avoid overly long or dragging garments, these can pose a safety hazard or risk getting caught in rides.

What not to wear / avoid

  • Full costumes, character outfits, masks, full-face makeup, props especially if you are an adult (unless at a sanctioned costume event), likely to be denied entry.
  • Clothing that’s overly revealing, offensive, or could be considered inappropriate for a family-oriented theme park.
  • Long flowing or dragging garments, capes, or accessories that may interfere with ride mechanisms or other Guests.
